Would You like to Volunteer?

mapleton food share would not exist without the huge contribution of volunteers!
We were started by people who felt they needed to help others and we continue to this day to be blessed by people who enjoy giving of their time and energy. mapleton food share enjoys the contributions of volunteers of all ages in many different capacities.
We work to accommodate volunteer’s schedules. You can give a little or a lot.
The result is a fun, compassionate and caring atmosphere to work.
There are always volunteer positions available.

Volunteer Positions:

Greeter:

Greet, Check-in and Update client information. Helps clients select frozen food items available that day.

Packer:

This volunteer will gather foods using the client’s list from the freezers. While there isn’t a great deal of heavy lifting in this position, there is repetitive lifting of packages of frozen foods.

Unload food delivery 2 times a month:

We use a crew of volunteers to quickly unload the food that comes in from Food for Lane County. Many hands make this project a fun and satisfying experience.

Shelf Stocking:

Unloading day then transitions into shelf re-supplying. Some of our crew unload only, while others stay and help re-stock the shelves in preparation for the next day when we are open.

Client Escort:

We are a shopping type Food Share and each client selects the food for their specific need. Escort is a fun and rewarding experience, as you will assist our clients in their shopping selections at our Food Share Store. You can help with ideas on how to use different foods. You will enjoy helping young families to learn more about ingredient selections to make more nutritious meals.
